Implement These Top Back to School Carpooling Tips

Back to school planning also means getting the carpool organized. While routes, pickup times and drop-off times need to be coordinated among all of the participating families, it is also important to explain the rules to kids ahead of time. Kids should get in and out on the curb side of the vehicle. Set expectations that kids are to be buckled at all times.

Children over the age of 13 can sit in the front seat. Kids 4 feet 9 inches or shorter must be in a booster safety seat. Kids should not sit doubled up or in each other's laps. Older kids should exit first, giving them the ability to observe and help the younger kids.
