Luxury SUV Face-Off: Audi Q5 vs. Audi Q7

Compare the 2022 Audi Q5 Versus the 2022 Audi Q7

Audi SUVs make a great addition to your Morristown, Caldwell, or Wayne, NJ, commute for many reasons. Besides containing several interior luxuries and technological advancements, each Audi SUV offers the performance you crave, the style you desire, and the adaptability your daily life needs. The question is, which new Audi SUV is right for you? Two of the most popular Audi SUVs are the Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. Deciding which of these two Audi vehicles is right for you can be a challenge. To help, we recommend diving into our comparison below.

Audi Q5 Vs. Audi Q7: Size

One of the biggest differences between these two stunning SUVs is the interior space they each come with. The Audi Q5 is a smaller SUV with two rows and up to five passenger seats, while the Audi Q7 is a three-row SUV that can hold up to seven. You'll want to choose which size best fits you, your family, and your daily travels. While the Audi Q5 is smaller on the inside, it's also easier to maneuver around West Orange. The Audi Q7 also includes up to 69.6 cubic feet of cargo space (compared to the 54.1 cubic feet found in the Audi Q5). If you tend to travel light in tight spaces, you may want to consider the Audi Q5. If you need to transport larger items or groups of people, you may want to choose the Audi Q7.

Audi Q5 Vs. Audi Q7: Performance

Both SUVs contain high-performance powertrains to get you moving around Livingston, Parsippany, and beyond. You'll find a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder engine in both models, along with the included quattro® all-wheel drive system. With this combination, the Audi Q5 cruises with up to 261-horsepower and 273 pounds-feet of torque, and the Audi Q7 comes in slightly slower with up to 248-horsepower and 273 pounds-feet of torque. Both models also can tow up to 4,400-pounds with the standard equipment included. Now, if you're looking for some extra oomph to your daily drive, you'll want to consider upgrading to the 55 TFSI® engine in the Audi Q7. This high-performance option allows up to 7,700-pounds of maximum towing capability.

Audi Q5 Vs. Audi Q7: Technology and Safety

While both Audi brand SUVs come with a long list of Audi technology, there is a slight difference between the two models regarding what's standard and what's available. For example, both vehicles include the MMI® infotainment system, but the Audi Q5 includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while the Audi Q7 offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation included. You'll also find a standard Audi Virtual Cockpit with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display in the Audi Q7.

As far as safety is concerned, the Audi Q5 and Audi Q7 are prepared for whatever may come your way. Their included driver assistance features also vary, though. The Audi Q5 includes Audi side assist and Audi active lane assist, and the Audi Q7 comes with standard lane departure warning. Of course, all of these impressive safety features are available on higher trim levels.
